God's Promises Final

Today is the conclusion of the promise series that hopefully has been a blessing to you as much as it has been to me. In many ways the numerous promises of God can be a prayer where you speak all these promises into your life. This series is a reminder for us to claim the promises of God for ourselves.

I would like to post some verses from the book of Deuteronomy 28 that we can all apply in our lives as a way speaking and essentially claiming these promises. When you think of a promise as an unpaid debt then it easy for us to go before God to ask that He fulfills his promise to you.

  • 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God.
  • 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.
  • 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock.
  • 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.

The promises here are so big and so great. Scripture says his blessings will overtake you. They will be outpouring. You will be blessed everywhere you go. Your children, the work of your hands, everything you are involved in will be blessed in abundance. Amen!

  • 6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out..

This one I just love. That when you walk into a room, you will bring a blessing, when you leave, the people and the places you touch will be blessed. Can you imagine that? People will look forward to seeing you. Your talents shall be a blessing to you and to others.
  • 7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.
  • 8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
  • 9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways.
  • 10 And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.
Can you laugh out loud with me. I don't specifically know that I have enemies but I picture this as someone who has ill will or someone who wouldn't necessarily want good things to happen in my life. They will be scattered seven ways and confusion will cause them to flee. They will know that the power of God that works within me for good.

  • 12 The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
  • 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them.
I hope that you can take these verses and pray that they become a reality in your life. We were made to thrive in this world not just to exist. You are not mean't to be the tail and the only direction you should go is up and up. Sure there will be set backs but we will rise with wings as eagles because we have a loving father.
In 2 Timothy 2:13 we see this clearly,
"if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself"
Numbers 23:19
"God is not a man, that he should lie..."
Listening is loving....
